Reasons why stainless steel are high in demand

Stainless steel is a versatile product that can be used in domestic as well as Industrial purposes. Because of its corrosion resistance properties, earlier it was used in cutlery but later quickly made its way into varied Industries. The main reason is because of its high corrosion resistance and oxidation that made the product slowly but steadily acknowledged for Industrial applications.

Stainless steel plates and stainless steel in general are often simple to shape, have a clean and appealing look, and are relatively light while being extremely durable. It is malleable without compromising strength, which makes them suitable for a variety of applications.

Considered Ideal for Industry-specific use

Because of its flexibility, strength, and corrosion resistance, stainless steel is used by a wide range of industries and businesses. The application of these plates is often determined by the plate grade. With so many plate grades to choose from, you can be sure that this metal can find its way into a wide range of applications. Various grades used to categorize stainless steel plates consist of numbers and numbers with H and L in the combination letter.

The steel plate grade determines which industries uses type of SS and for what purposes. The letters in the grade of stainless steel represent something, and this determines where it can be used.

The later H and L used to refer to whether Stainless steel has low or high carbon content. L for Low carbon and H for High carbon. If a plate grade does not contain any of these two letters it is said to be straight grades which possess at least .08% carbon in them.

To suggest more specifically here we come along commonly Stainless steel plate grades

  • Type 304 - This is available in three different grades including 304, 304H, and 304L. This plate grade, which is part of the 300 series, is commonly used in the food and beverage industry. This is due to the fact that this particular grade will keep contamination risks to a bare minimum. This metal has a chromium content of 18% and a nickel content of 8%.
  • Type 316 - This grade, which is also part of the 300 series, has a chromium content of 16 to 18 percent and a nickel content of 11 to 14 percent. Because of its resistance to corrosion caused by salty water, it is often used in environmental and marine applications.
  • Type 410 - This is a heat-treatable steel that can be used to make surgical instruments as well as strainers for the food industry.
